Modric: Looking to fire Tottenham into the top four.

Tottenham's Croatian star Luka Modric says he will repay the club's faith him by bringing Champions League football to White Hart Lane. The £16.5million summer siging from Dinamo Zagreb is convinced that Juande Ramos' men can break into the top four, with the 22-year-old excited by the wealth of talent accrued at N17.

The arrivals of Modric, Heurelho Gomes, David Bentley and Giovani dos Santos have cushioned the blow of the departure of Robbie Keane to Liverpool.

Despite the uncertain future of mercurial striker Dimitar Berbatov, the Croatian schemer is convinced the club is headed for big things.

Modric said: 'I will justify the money Tottenham invested in me. The first target has to be to threaten the big four. 'We’re capable of achieving some really good results,' he told The Sun.

Modric's comments echo those of Brazilian keeper Gomes, who remarked: 'I am not thinking of just making it into the first four.' 'I am thinking of winning, being first or second, in that range. Some people might say I am aiming very high, but that has always been my thinking. 'I think as a champion and I want to win,' Gomes added.

    • Prove urself that you can suffer the tackles in the Premier League before you make that statement.

I have to agree that you are a talent, but alot of talents come to Premier league and go out as shits to other leagues.

what's so impressive when they spent so much on players who already can play so well? i personally prefer rafa's style, bringing in players of not so high standard but playing together as a team make them one of the best, look at the top4 every year, liverpool will always be the team that has the least field players worth. that's the way i call impressive.

To be honest Liverpool haven't been very impressive le . Very inconsistent most probably due to the fact that Rafa rotates the team and deploying different formations every week . And also I don't know what you meant by bringing in players "of not so high" standard . I thought players like Fernando Torres and Mascherano came with a reputation

Final score is 5-0... Roma got whacked in England again! This time at White Hart Lane...

You must admit that Ramos' boys look good at the moment... let's hold our breath and await their performance in the real thing.

    • AW once claimed that Bentley is indeed a player with pretty good potential but had to release him as he needs more games which Arsenal can't provide him at that point in time...
