      Ashley Young will jump ahead of Gareth Barry to become Aston Villa's highest paid player on £56,000-a-week.

      The England winger has finalised terms on a new four year deal after boss Martin O'Neill rewarded his recent progress.

      An announcement is due next week to confirm the former Watford star has put pen to paper on the agreement.

      Deadball specialist Young amassed a impressive total of 14 assists last term in the league and netted nine times.

      He has already struck twice this season in qualifying for the UEFA Cup and O'Neill reckons his value has tripled since arriving from Vicarage Road for £9.6million in January 2007.

      yea agbon impt player. young, good n english. next time cfm worth alot. interesting to see wage difference between big 4 and others. highest 56k? den chelsea is around 150k rite?

      unsure why he is not playing in senior squard for england..

      and forcing gerrard there..

      I think they should just put lampard and gerrard midfield to rest and bench one. but then, if the FA can find one manager with the balls to do that first. no swedish, italian balls as we all know.
