    • Hull boss Phil Brown has been named Premier League manager of the month for September.

The Tigers started the month with a 2-1 victory at Newcastle and then held Everton to a 2-2 draw.

They went on to spring one of the greatest surprises in Premier League history as they came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Hull, who continued their fine start to the season with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, are currently third in the table.

They had been heavy favourites to be relegated and Brown has now been recognised for his part in their unexpected success.

Brown's accolade was voted for by the Barclays Award Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.

It is the first such award for Hull in their maiden Premier League campaign.

    • A good start for him...

Not too long ago only, he work as an electrician. Now he is a premiership manager earning big money...

      Hull boss Phil Brown

"I served my time as an electrician and I still go back to my tools every so often. If it was necessary to put food on the table I'd go back to being an electrician. It's nice to have options."

    • There seem to be a newly promoted dark horse almost every season.

      Recall Wigan, Reading, Ipswich, etc...
