ps post source. Even Curbs himself admitted that it will be
difficult to attract players to team given their current situation.
I think the best bet is to bleed their youth players - West Ham has
a history of grooming good players, now its a good time to do
so.

In any case, West Ham has nothing to lose.

Manchester United

MANCHESTER, England -- American teenager Freddy Adu began a
two-week trial with English Premier League club Manchester United
on Monday.

The 17-year-old Adu took part in training with players from the
club's youth academy. Man United's senior squad left Monday for
Glasgow, Scotland, for its Champions League match against Celtic on
Tuesday.

Because Adu doesn't have a British work permit, he is not able to
play in a competitive match.

Under FIFA transfer rules, Adu, who plays for MLS club D.C. United,
is not allowed to transfer to a club outside the United States
until he turns 18 on June 2, 2007.

Chelsea has also expressed interest in possibly signing Adu at some
point.

I hope man u signs Adu. Oh! Man U did sign Adu; in my FM07 for
4.5m; playing in my under19s. will replace scholes in a couple of
years time.
and when some genius said that riquelme was never a possibility
after carrick's arrival; i may have a hunch that fergie's trying to
mould carrick into a defensive mf. i suppose carrick's in between
scholes and keane type of player.

def - Who knows? fergie may be keeping an eye on Leighton Baines.
lol. and the most likely departure would be heinze.

As much as we love him, heinze's been out with injury for quite
some time; and may take a while before he can regain his match
fitness, first-team place, and match his last season's superb form.
Evra is gettin' better; though i think the only attribute in which
he beats heinze is his pace.

i think more likely silverstre will go rather than Heinze.
Silverstre's place is being taken by Evra & Heinz and he is not
convincing playing centre-back cos he lack the stature. O Shea
& Wes Brown will fare better as centre back.

Athletic Madrid is not doing too well in La Liga, not in CL -
moreover, SAF needs a striker after departure of RVN.

Also maybe a midfielder to partner Carrick & Scholes or replace
Scholes when he leaves. I would have thot Carrick is to replace
Keane?? Defenders wise i think nobody exciting yet. Or maybe a left
winger to complement Giggs, I thot Park is a good cover but since
he is injured and Kireran Richardson has not really convince ppl
that he is ready.

But I hope SAF stays away from S. Americans, they don't seem to fit
well with Man U, look at Veron, Klberson, Folan....all history
now.

Manchester United Transfer Trail replied by trendz @ Wed, 15 Nov 2006 17:07:19 +0800

Reuters - Fernando Torres will join Manchester United for
£22m.
Atletico madrid have given up trying to keep Spain's hottest
prospect; nicknamed 'El Nino'. The deal will cost Manchester United
£22 million. Torres is also wanted by defending English champions
Chelsea.

Atletico had already splashed £15m on another hot prospect; this
time it is Sergio Aguero hailing from Argentina. With huge mounting
debts; they would need the money; also to bring in a few
players.

Manchester United may well then try their luck and move for Aldo
Duscher again as a defensive midfielder. Former transfer target
Mahamadou Diarra had already moved to Real Madrid from Lyon for
£25m and Gattuso was flinging in and out of the crease between
United and AC Milan.

Manchster United are confident they can land their top target Owen
Hargreaves for £20m. They see him as an ideal replacement for Roy
Keane. Currently nursing an injury, Bayern would be hard-pressed to
let him go.

United will also reinstate their interest in a late-bloomer in the
form of Argentine playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme for £10
million.

Another fleet-footed wing-wonder slated to join United for £5m
would be Sporting Lisbon's Nani. Fergie probably thought Nani would
complement Ronaldo on the opposite flank.

Fergie may once again also set his eye on both Argentine misfits
currently languishing in West Ham - Javier Mascherano and Carlos
Tevez. The duo are rumoured to move to a big club during the
January transfer window.

Sir Alex Ferguson is currently in the hunt for Stewart Downing or
Joe Cole, as he sees either of them the ideal heir to Welsh wizard
Ryan Giggs. Boro may be tempted to sell Downing; but would see
United shell out at least £10m for their prized prospect who came
through the ranks. Chelsea would reject any United approach for Joe
Cole, but only if they had Rooney in exchange. Chelsea boss
Mourinho had once stated that the only missing jigsaw they had
missed out on was Rooney.

With a £10m profit from John Obi Mikel's deal-compensation, Carrick
bought for £14m and Tomas Kusczak in for a £2m loan deal Ferguson
may be tempted to breach the £50million mark on his summer transfer
spending.

Fergie should go for Tomas Sivok from
Sparta Prague and Vincent Kompany from Anderlect. Tomas Sivok is
tall and well-built, tackles well, has great determination and
positioning, creates goals, has composure and pases well. He's the
best replacement for Keane. Fergie could use Kompany as a
right-back, since Vidic and Ferdinand had already form a solid
parntership in central defence. We need more depth, and Torres
should be brought in. This would see Smith leaving on loan to other
clubs on a short-term basis.

Madrid - Many Barcelona fans are starting to worry about idol
Ronaldinho leaving for AC Milan.

The Italian giants have been interested in Ronaldinho for two years
now, and there have been several contacts between Milan and Roberto
de Assis, brother and agent of the Brazilian megastar.

On Tuesday Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport
revealed that Silvio Berlusconi, owner of AC Milan, had lunch
recently with Ronaldinho's brother - to talk about the possibility
of a move to the San Siro.

Barca fans are already worried at this prospect.

An online poll taken by Catalan sports paper Mundo Deportivo shows
that 56 per cent of fans are 'very worried' about the prospect of
Ronaldinho wanting to leave Camp Nou in the near future.

Only a small minority of readers, 11.6 per cent, think that Barca
should 'take advantage of Ronaldinho's high market value and sell
him straight away.'

According to the poll, only 28 per cent of Barca fans believe that
Ronaldinho will still be wearing the famous red-and-blue striped
shirt 'in five years' time.'

Santi Nolla, editor of Mundo Deportivo, comments that 'these fears
are understandable, given the historic inability of Barca to hold
on to their top foreign players.'
