Hello guys, I just started my ground school. I started in December. Gonna make my first sortie in about 2 weeks. I did one simulator practise already. Instructor taught us the checks etc, and abit of 'effects of controls'.
Most of my mentors tell me that first 3 sorties very important and it reflects what the primary instructor will think of us. I've memorised and practise (up to Starting Checks) the checks. I hope to clear most of the checks/do it proficiently by the first few sorties so more time can be spent practising flying instead of being scolded by instructor for not memorising checks/studying pre flight book.
I'm glad my friend showed me this forum. Anyway, I think this thread can be here for all of us SYFC (ex and current) students to talk about anything related.
Many people here are pilots/PPL holders and I have lots of admiration for pilots.
I wish everyone studying in SYFC the best in getting your PPL.
Cheers

Woah... I really really really hate memorizing the checks man... so many things to remember before take off, after take off, during the flight and after landing. Makes my head swell i tell u.

Btw the first sortie the instructor mostly just bring you to sightsee only lah. The only thing you have to do in that sortie is just keep a lookout for the landmarks.
