sometimes i dun understand.
the evidence is quite clear and abundant there is no GOD or no benevolant GOD to make sure everyone is safe and happy.
The stories that man turn evil and cause his own suffering or story of Satan are so laughable that i wonder why people will buy it.
last time, i critique abt GOD and stuff and was being said that i would die or what but i am still standing here today and seeing pple from all walks of life dying and meeting serious accidents.
on the positive side, it is beneficial for me that pple believe in GOD because from competition perspective, i will win more if pple rely on GOD or religion to do things.
on negative side, the world and my life will continue to be filled with ignorant people who likes to delude themselves.
but i guess it all boils down to human nature, human brain and our environment that allows the belief in GOD to sustain.

Why don't we talk about agnostics who are people who don't profess to a single religion but do believe in divine being/s or providence. They are increasing as the common Singaporean on the street doesn't know what's a an agnostic and instead claim to be a free thinker.
In fact, the number of people believing in a religion have been increasing over the years in Singapore. This is due to the human psyche needing some reassurance over uncontrollable events.
I am also hoping to bring up the topic on irreligionists as they are under represented in this forum. They are unique as they don't like any religion and believe that religion is one of the main problems plaguing the world today. Their main aim is to ban all religions in the world. Hopefully, if january is interested, he can pm me so we can collaborate on such an article.
Just my 2 cents for this forum today. Thanks for hearing my ranting.

You can be a free thinker, believe a God exist, and decide not to worship any.
It is actually much more difficult to be an atheist than to be an agnostic.
i am aware of the various variant of agnostic, freethinker, atheist
i would say that the current generation are free thinker as they dun practise religious praying except during stressful times they will say "god god pls help me" or offer joss stick before "exam".
the GOD believers among young pple also exist and may also be increasing also due to the internet and mass media effect. perhaps religion has successfully use media to gather more believers of various kinds.
The fact that people are exposed to so much new knowledge might also be a natural reason to believe such a complex world definitely means the presence of GOD.
Atheist population in singapore? i dunno.. there never really have a statistics in singapore about the beliefs of GOD....

i think the main problem with religion is that it is unproductivity it caused. all the ceremony, praying, singing prasies, burning, offering is not dealing with real problems.
worst still, government does not seem offer their opinion on whether religion is useful. instead freedom of religion is being practise and religious tolerance.
of course we have to be peaceful and and give people freedom to believe what they want to.
however, we should also convince people with reason and persuasion, and not with force, that religion does not really help except psychological short term relief it gives.
remember the problems in the world are huge and complex, our resources and brain power of few billion people are limited and most of our life is spend our working, family and enjoying life already.
i think the religion industry is quite large and it is using quite alot of resouces.

i would rather people dun spend time on religious praying and offering and save their money and time do watch more tv, spend more time with friends and family , do their own things, have more sex in their limited one and only lifespan if they are not interested in solving world problems...
i not trying to ask pple to spend time solving problems if they are not interested. i just telling pple that they should not waste their time praying.
it would not help. you will get knocked down by car and get killed because
1)did not follow traffic lights
2)the driver is negligent
3)the driver is drunk
even if you are good person, bad person or what. you dun get knocked down because of
1)karma
2)for being a atheist
3)GOD wants to see you

Besides the recreational needs (watch more tv), social needs (interacts more with family/friends) & physical needs (sex) as mentioned by January in the posting, the spiritual needs (praying) & mental needs (solving problems) should be added on to make our lives balanced & complete.
Of course everything mush be done in moderation & within our limitation.

what's the meaning of all the terms ah... atheism, agonist, xxxxx, yyyy....
me believe more in 1 creator, and he comes in different forms ....
and me agree to a certain extend what ts said....
me believe you control your own destiny/fate/life....
Good or bad or devoted or anti-religon people will also get knockdown by car, it just depends on whether they look carefully when crossing the road.

Something is always better than nothing.. And there’s always a temptation and tendency for people to take the easier way out in believing things.. World is chaotic these days.. Many people just cannot make out or comprehense situations as well as they used to… So alot of times they can only rely on speculating and choosing in believing just for the sake of believing itself…

yes i did died and come back and its up to you to believe
now i knew then ans and it still up to you to believe even if i say there is a god. Everything its up to you to believe and thats why i said died and you will know the ans
