    • ...which shows how religion is a no lose proposition.

It was recently revealed that Mother Theresa had no faith in god. Now the Catholic Church is using that as an argument for god's grace. I just don't get it. Christians have argued all along that "no one goes unto the Father except through" Jesus. And one of the fundamental tenants of that is that you must believe. Otherwise, anyone gets salvation and of course, you can't have that.

It's like that argument that babies who die at birth or prematurely automatically go to heaven. Huh? Christians can't even get their doctrine straight. They simply pick and choose what feels good to them - basically creating their religion in their own image. Here's news for you. The Christian religion says that babies go to hell. That's the whole concept of Original Sin.

      Psalm 51:4,5
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Of course, there are Christian apologists who would argue that we are not born in sin and will quote other passages to try to support that view. But the basic argument comes down to no good god could condemn a child to hell.

In any case, here's a Hitchen's article on Mother Theresa:

And a Sam Harris article that mentions her:

Exactly, every Church has its own imterpretation, and every Christian believes what he wants to believe. Basically, to suit themselves. Remember the case of Father Kang? He even interpreted canon laws for his own benefits!
Trouble with believer is: just cannot think and see the obvious. Even the blind is not so blind!

    • i can understand why mother theresa have doubts about her faith...
its normal for people to realise that life and reality is just what it is..
bad things can happen to humans because our world revolves around law of physics, law of chemistry, law of psychology. the world does not exist to serve human or our god in some way.

if you want good things to happen, then you got to study reality to increase your chances.
