    • LOL, pointless debate, christians will never give up no matter how much evidence you show them.

not to add oil into the fire..... will atheists give up? even where there are unexplained occurences??? Wink

but I do agree... debates like these are pointless, which is why I always say, agree to disagree.

Well, a debate is not just to show who is winning or losing.

The main aim of those debates is to get the point out so that people could think and ponder over it... especially christians, who ignore cold hard facts, because they think what their bible says is true. EVERYTHING about it is true. No questioning, no doubting, and no disbelieving. This is how religious people could get.

Atheists will not give up. Because this is a debate.. duh... who would wanna give up and be that laughing stalk of that show?

the point is, when there are unexplained occurances, it does not mean that there must be an assumption that god created them.

science is not based on assumptions. it is questioning, postulating, setting up experiments and hypotheses, and then attempt to disprove certain things that are unknown to us. this was how we found the cure for smallpox, the ability to make rockets to the moon, doing trillions of calculations per second, and so on...

of course, there are other things we still cannot disprove, but that does not means we go around hypothesizing and coming into strong conclusion without sufficient proof or evidence saying, "It must have been God!"... whereas for i am concerned, the more humble discipline has got to be science and philosophy, because it simply says "I don't know, but I'm figuring it out no matter what."

it would be better, in my opinion, to die for a cause in seeking for the answers, than to rely on faith in something asserted to be absolutely right. to me, i think faith is believing strongly about something, claiming it is right, when it could be wrong also.

men shall not live on faith alone, much less with faith and action, but without reason, truth is dead.

    • the point of debate is not only for the debators to win. Its more important for the viewers because by listening to the reasonings of both sides, they can then form their judgments.

Well, the atheists arguments are pretty much similar to those atheists in our forums. and so is the christians sides.

The girl is pretty cool too. She seems abit punkish western 'ah lian'
