The Professor was in bullish mood as he spoke to the press.
“I know what I want and I am very confident,” said Wenger before adding, “I hope to turn that around in the next two or three weeks. The fans should be re-assured by what they see.”
Wenger was speaking after a season which, after a bright start, ultimately ended in disappointment for the Gunners. They ended the season empty handed once again and finally finished the season in third place in the Premier League, despite having topped the table for long parts of the season.
However, Wenger has clearly identified what he needs to do to strengthen his squad for next season. He said: “It would be better to buy someone who has played in England because they are less risky, but it costs more money if they are from the Premier League - maybe I will try to do both.”
Form Guide
The Frenchman was also defiant about his team’s form last season and was upbeat about his team’s chances for the next campaign. He said: “We were unbeaten at home and that is only the second time in the history of the club. We have done that with young players who will be better next season.”
He also spoke about how the experiences of last season were bound to help his team who he believes will come back stronger next season. He said: “I think the big core of the team is ready to come back and fight, and that all of them are determined to come back and win.”
Wenger was speaking after a season which ultimately ended in failure due to a squad which was found to be lacking strength in depth after lengthy injuries to Eduardo, Van Persie, Sagna and Rosicky.
He has also since seen Matthieu Flamini depart the Emirates for AC Milan and rumours abound that fellow midfielder Hleb is also about to leave Arsenal. Therefore Wenger will surely need reinforcements if his side is to successfully challenge for honours next season.

Those statements made by the players were aimed to boost the club's morale. Players from almost every team did it in some point during the campaign. What is wrong with that? Dun tell me Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool etc players din make such comments before?
