The other one that is highly recommended is Han Kee at Amoy Street FC. They use only fish bones to cook the soup and the fish is very very fresh cos the owner's wife if a fish supplier.

Some people I know prefer Piao Ji at Amoy Street FC but I haven't tried it.
There's another stall at Geylang Lor 27. Hong Qin is quite famous. But when I tried it the fish was not that great that day because of the monsoon rains

There is a stall at Serangoon Gardens market food centre (not Chomp Chomp) specialising in fish soup and porridge. If you like a lot of green vege in your fish soup, this is it. Shiok!Originally posted by ieat:I just had quite a nice Sliced Fish Soup from Ng Soon Kee at Geylang East Central Food Centre Blk 117. The Batang soup was yummilicious. The creamy ones use milk. Some give you the option to add milk or not.Originally posted by rainee:got one place in AMK one very nice...actually got two...one is a zi char stall, another one is just a normal food court, tink it is nearby the AMK library...
both stalls sell soup which are creamy and not clear de...I like those more![]()
Ya. I agree. The one at cathay cineleisure. Muz try. Though is $4. But the fish is realli fresh and smooth. Think of it my saliva droop. =pOriginally posted by Cliff A:The one in Cathay Foodcourt is nice![]()
Actually the ones who use milk are taking a shortcut. The traditional way of doing it is without milk. The white is caused by emulsifying oil in water which is in fact what milk really is, ie an emulsionOriginally posted by chiabaliao:The creamy ones use milk. wheres pek kio fc?Originally posted by Poolman:Okay ... let Taxi Uncle me recommend u about Fish Soup / Fish Porridge ....
The one at Geylang East is really a famous one , u should also try their duck feets ... lor ones ....
Then my favourite store , very outsider ... one store at Pek Kio Food centre , name ? who cares ? Anyway , when u reached Pek Kio , u will see the store , cos their store is the most patronised , other stores just have to look at them , envy them !!
No need Q , within 10 minutes the food is right infront of u , cos they are efficient !
Their fish is expensive one , Chang Yu . Fresh , think and juicy ...The soup is plain , but less , very less MSG , that's what i like most , like any other famous store , they used special ingredients , with fish bones , and got the special blend of soup , to subsitude MSG .
And it's cheap , $3.00 .
I stop eating the Fish Soup just after i tried their Ang-Goh-Li fish head soup , addictive !!
Try it .
Owen Road , or Cambridge Road , hokkien we called it Pek Kio ( white Bridge ) .
Hello, this stall you mentioned above OK lah, I eat this occasionally. But the fish soup stall opp this stall is more value for $$$ and taste good, too. Quite large portion they serve, very worth the $3 we pay for. This stall the seafood soup has more ingredients and taste better than the other. This stall is manned by an old couple. Think their fish is fresher and tastier.Originally posted by Poolman:Okay ... let Taxi Uncle me recommend u about Fish Soup / Fish Porridge ....
