  my dad bought some malaysian coffee bags from dunnoe where. the ingredients say inside 25% put cane sugar, salt and margarine.
  
  how come so interesting one har? taste quite ok.. not even sweet despite the sugar.

  huh u mean they use margarine to roast the coffee beans? Why not oil?

  Yes thats the common traditional practice of roasting Coffee Beans not only margarine/butter are being use, for lower grade coffee beans they even add corn kernels, thats why local coffee beans cannot be added into the Expresso Grinder Coffee Machine, Oil will clog the system thus spoil the machine.
  
  Roasting coffee beans using big oil tin. What a pity no longer such sight exist. China still have hawkers selling roasted sweet potato, roasted with charcoal in such big oil tin.

  thanks for reply . from melaka, may be they use gula melaka as ingredient as well, dats y taste good! my sis also likes the coffee from malaysia, she said taste good!

  I don't know about goat, but in the Philippines, the most expensive coffee beans come from the excretion of Civet Cats. The cats have the knack of picking the right coffee berries to chew and the "aroma" is further enhanced as the seeds passed through the digestive system.

  Using margarine to roast coffee beans is very prominent in Malaysia while Singapore coffee manufacturers dun usually use it. It is basically for fragrance.
  
  As for salt and sugar, it is actually very common in coffeeshops run by hainanese in Malaysia. They add both salt and sugar into their coffee and it taste quite nice and unique actually. In Singapore not so common, the last I heard, a coffeeshop in Yishun does it. A few coffeeshops I asked do not even know of such practices.

  I think its also becos of suring the roasting process they used Margarine. I just found out today when i was wacthing some programme on TV mobile.
