Is dog meat available here?
I hope it isn't. I need to make an ignorant Welsh twat in another forum shut up. Better still if one of you can cite a specific law that bans it, if it exists - I couldn't find anything on AVA's website.

erm, not sure whats going on. but is eating dog meat so offensive to you or something? or was it just some argument about facts that ended up up this dog meat thingy?

I'm not sure if there's a prohibition ....
but at some construction sites the disappearance of strays are often attributed to foreign workers ...

Someone from this forum, I forgot who, once said that they sell dog meat in Geylang (but it's not on the menu).
I don't think there is a law that says consumption of dog meat is illegal, or else SPCA would've mentioned it here. -

Articles of food unfit for human consumption
40. —(1) No person shall, without lawful excuse, have in his possession for sale by retail any article of food intended for human consumption which is unsound or unfit for human consumption.
WHOLESOME MEAT AND FISH ACT (Cap. 349A)
Slaughter of animals to be carried out at licensed slaughter-houses or premises permitted by Director-General
11. —(1) No person shall slaughter any animal which is intended for human consumption or permit any such animal to be slaughtered on any premises, unless —
(a) those premises have been licensed by the Director-General as a slaughter-house under this Act and the slaughter of the animal is carried out in accordance with the rules and the conditions of the licence; or
(b) the Director-General has granted a permit to such person allowing him to slaughter the animal on those premises for any special reason and the slaughter of the animal is carried out in accordance with the rules and the conditions of the permit.
Sale of meat products and fish products
23. —(1) No person shall sell or supply, or have in his possession for the purpose of selling or supplying, or advertise the sale or supply of, any meat product or fish product —
(a) which has been imported in contravention of section 5 or 6;
(b) which has not been inspected, examined and certified by an authorised examiner as required under section 10;
(c) which has been derived from any animal that has been slaughtered in Singapore in contravention of section 11, 17 or 18;
Now you have to prove that AVA will never grant licence for slaughterhouses to kill dogs for human consumption, on the grounds that it is unfit to be consumed. -
