This is the story:
I bought sweater at reputated shop. The next morning, I found out that they forgot to remove the security tag attached to my sweater.
I thought of removing it by myself... wah!!! guess what... ink leaked out of the device....
no choice.. returned back to the shop. The shop refused to pay me back in cash and insisted me for exchange or one month validity credit note.
At that time, i really bought enough at that shop, nothing else to buy... so, I argued that it was the shopkeeper who forgot to remove the tag. so, not my fault. but they came up with the story that no cash refund, it's COMPANY POLICY.
What can I do? it was their fault... how come I cannot insist for cash refund? anyone encountered this issue before?
Yah, there is supposed to be a warning in english warning against tapering of the device...Originally posted by FireIce:there's a warning on the tag not to geh kiang to remove it urself rite
unless someone dunno how to read??Originally posted by Kaczynski:Yah, there is supposed to be a warning in english warning against tapering of the device...
Tokyo? Japanese Yen = Sing $? Y compare? U go try shopping in France den u come back & complain sg's service ok? The alarm isn't supposed to sound anyway. Yes, it is indeed the cashier's negligence for not removing the tag but human mistakes is inevitable. Y would they wanna put a tag on the items if customers can easily remove it themselves? U would need the proper device to remove the sensors.Originally posted by Glen999:hi,
yes, it didn't beep when I got it out of the shop.
no, it didn't have any English/Mandari on the tag.
it was the shopkeeper's fault by not removing the tag and the stupid alarm at the exit of the shop didn't work at all.
Note: The sweater was the last piece in the entire singapore.
I stayed in Tokyo for 2 months last year. returned goods with defect and had received apology from the shopkeepers... ( although didn't under japanese but at least felt the sincerity) and more importantly, refunded by reversing the amount from my credit card.
same opinion with all my local co-workers who's been in Tokyo that the service level in Tokyo cannot compared to Singapore's.
so exclusive sia!!!Originally posted by Glen999:Note: The sweater was the last piece in the entire singapore.
It would be good for every1 if only some sg customers give salespple the due respect. Some do take pride in their work & they call u snobbish for looking down on them coz they r shabbily dressed & we assume they can't afford. I say its inferiority complex stirring in them.Originally posted by the Bear:service standards in Japan is something else isn't it?
it's something about them there.. it's called Pride in their Work..
this pride gives them the will to do the best they can... i hope one day, singapore will have such pride in their work.. and hey, this would be good for everyone

How many times haf customers took it for granted when service is gd. They try to push the limits & ask for free gifts.. free calendars.. umbrellas...extra bags... etc. Tink wat? Supermarkets? or petrol kiosk?
Btw, Japanese customers r also the nicest lot to serve! Neverending to comparing
& Yes.. i'm a SNOBBISH salesperson!![]()
Cool.Originally posted by the Bear:you have a point..
education of the people is important... just as it is good to get good service, they have to be good to the service-provider too
and hey.. i'm the dude who faces difficult "customers" at my work.. so i understand completely
