Scene at Far East 29 March 2005...

This happened at Far East Square (not Plaza!
) at about 5.20pm on the above date.
A Caucasian family actually allowed 2 of their 3 young children (2 to 4yrs old girls) to strip and play with water at the fountain plaza (the floor has fountain jets and dry ice jets). All the people there were staring at them and the Caucasians don't seem to mind at all!
Even the 2 security guards just stared at them and did not do a thing!
One was by the plaza and one was inside the office building by the plaza.
Oh god.....
After a while when the (auto) fountain switched off, then the guard came out of the office building and said that they can't allow their children to play with the water from the fountain, much less nude!
I think this might be acceptable in Western countries, but not Asian countries where it is rather conservative.
Now I wonder why the guard did not stop the parents, and instead waited only til after the fountain is off!!! -

Those who pass by Far East Square, or work at the offices around there including China Square, Capital Sqaure, etc would know the jets are rather low and spurt upwards. There is no pool for the fountain...Originally posted by hyuuga neji:they dun wan to get wet... -

i don't think it's a problem....
u reminded me one case that i got it from other forumer:
an old lady talked to a bus driver and insisted that the kid that was seated next to her should be paid in full fare.... although the kid and the old lady didn't know each other AT ALL.... .....The bus driver also ignored the old lady....
I assume that you were there. if you find it very offensive, y don't you go to tell the whites what you think... y u just stood there and expected the security guard to do something.. it's just like expecting governemtn to do something for u.... -

The fountain was there for a reason, I say use it.

i've yet to see ppl bathing at the suntec fountain
though my colleague say wanna go fill up a pail to wash his car
maybe the car lumber will open in 4D -
As long as they don't pee in it (you never know some crazies! ), it's fine.

esp the fountain at bugis, everyone had fun watching the kids play, and some of the parents actually brought towel and clothes along for the kids to change.
i think there's nothing wrong with playing with the fountain water.... they are kids what.......
