Where to get cheap tools eg paint,airbrush ... etc
I'm a newbie in this kinda hobby... anyone knows where to get the stuff cheap? -

i'm looking for WW2 models...preferbly german soldiers...they have cool uniforms..
where to get them ? which place cheaper?
the special ops figures r very nice and detailed...wow

I do Zoids modelling. I have 30-40 Zoids collection in my room.
I can advice you to go buy spray paint, those which are meant for cars. Get about 20-30 cans of different colours, especially those metallic ones - metallic red, metallic blue, silver, sparkling gold, ash green etc.
Arrange your model parts wide on newspaper and spray paint away !
In the end when you assemble your model, the colour is much more nicer than those colours you buy from hobby shops!
Really u can trust me on that - they look more solid and metallic!
With spray paint, you can also layer different colours , example spray paint brown for the 1st layer, and silver for the second. The resulting silver is much more sparkling and beautiful.
After I used spray paints, I really find that those toy models displaying at hobby shops really sucks and ugly!
And what's more, 30 cans of spray paint is 60% cheaper or less(cost u about $ 120) than getting an airbrush with 30 colours ( which is more than $240).
Go try it.

Try get from hardware shops .
But I advice you to buy from Nippon paint shops instead, because these shops spray paints are cheaper, costs about $3.50 for 1 colour.
hardware shops usually costs you much more. -

i am a newbie too, but also not. as for the models, try taka, metrol, or some shopping centres when they have sales, good price... or you can try the comics shop, i buy my tian tia and others books there....
happy painting... maybe can discuss what you painting now or your experience.

u guys really in to gundam stuff?
few years back my friend and i are really crazed bout this stuff.....even collected the whole model series of "wing" costing few hundreds..
now all my friends and i regreted doing this stuffs liao...waste money and not appreciated
even if say its a collection also will get dull bout this cartoon robots.
i think maybe modelling cars, planes, ships will be much more appreciated and valued lah

Hmm... Actually u can try using a spray that can make ur model looks like real... I forgot what that spray is called liao..
