hey i got some sec 3 a-maths qns..hope u guys can help me
1)prove that the expression x^3+(k-4)x^2+(k-9)x-4 is divisible by x+1 for all values of k.
2) given that 3x^2-11x+3=a(x-2)(x-1)+b(x-1)+c for all values of x, find the values of a,b and c
3)find the value of x for 4^x times 3^2x=6

Ah! Factor and remainder therom... My worst topics... Sorry couldn't be of much help
4^x * 3^2x = 6
2^2x * 3^2x = 6
6^2x = 6^1
2x = 1
x = 1/2
Not sure if im correct...

1) for f(x) to be always divisible by (x+1) for all values of k, (x+1) must be a factor of f(x)..
so sub x=-1, f(x)= -1 + (k-4) + (9-k) - 4 = 0 (proven)
2) easy, expand the right hand side and compare coefficients
in this case, a=3.. u can see it straightaway
