Anyone like Dwarf Hamsters?

Since got a thread on aquariums, I would like to propose another thread on dwarf hamsters.
Anyone at home got rear? My home got 2 species the Roborowski n the Sapphire Blue. They give birth a lot and we have gave them away already.
Now we actually put the 2 species together in a big container. Will cross breed be born? Keeping my finger crossed... -
2 species of course will have crossbreed lah... I use to have tonnes of dwarf hamsters but it was too much and my dad got a bit of asthma from it so all gone liao loh.

I also think so but I think the Sapphire Blue is the young so haven't matured yet. But then the matured male (Roborowski) has been smelling their backside these few days. Think when the female Sapphire Blue mature, the smell will fuel the male urge and viola crossbreed liao.

Actually the name is extracted from some dwarf hamsters book my young sis bought. It says that kind of species is Sapphire Blue.
Anyway I find them a bit black black not as cute as Roborowski which is whiter and cuter. However, Robo very hard to hand tame they very no seed whereas Sapphire heck care, you can take them out any time, they juz wanna eat

usually 1st time give birth...no experience...oso bery stressed...so will bite the babies to death (not applicable to all)
after a few more rounds...then they learned to take care of the babies liao then will have more surviving babies...

Mine also. 1st to 2nd birth all die and she n her husband will eat the dead babies. But then she can get pregnant very fast, once the babies can eat solid food and drink n we put her back with her husband, she get pregnant again! The male so horny har -
they have no TV to watch, no internet to surf, no sch to study
so "entertain" each other eberyday loh...

eben if they accept each other as cagemates, oso no guarantee they will mate as expected.....probably have to wait for a few mths...... -

DWAAF HAMSTERS KILL PPLE!!! a person died after being bittten by a dwaf hamster.... proved tat its slaivary gland contain some bacteria and once it enters our body x.x.....
ani one of mine died....sad... T.T but it seems tat its eyes has been eaten by the other hamster .... burrrr.. damn scary... -

To be noted:
cross breed between hamsters or breed hybrids is dangerous and harmful to the hamsters, especially roboroviskii is so small and sapphire winter white is so big. The sexual organ of robos is suitable for giving birth the same breed, and if the pup happens to take after the sapphire winter white, the robo mum would have problems giving birth, resulting in hard labour, which might most probable cause death. Even if there is successful birth, the offsprings are of high mortality rate and highly infertile. If you have doubts of wad I say, perhaps can find out more from other hamster or pet websites. Since you keep hamsters, suppose you love them and had their interest at heart
As for the hamster that killed people, its not a hamster. The reporter got the facts wrong. Its actually a lemming which do resembles a winter white. The victim does not die of any virus, but due to allergy which is very rare case.
As for sapphire winter white which is the actual name. Do not add the word "blue" in as sapphire blue dwarf hamster which is given by ignorant pet shop owners as gimicks as people would mistook them as the blue campbells. -
i have two dwarf hamsters. And they are nearly 3 yrs old!!!
