u gotta really do it religiously..whether it hurts or not...maybe u could try it on the Inclined flex arm hang bar first..do around 4 sets of 30 inclined pullups first...for a week or 2...then try doing proper ones..

once u start doing them,...there is a rythm kinda thing...all u need to do is stick to the rythm and do it smoothly...
