The President earns more than the Prime Minister... for such a expensive leader, i hope whoever fills this position would take a more responsible and active role politically... & make a significant and positive difference to the lives of Singaporean's... attending star charities, doing rountine obligations and smiling for the camera is simply not enough to win the hearts and minds of the masses...

We should still vote in order to show participation. BUT VOTE for the opposition so that our parliament and instititions can become stronger and not subjected to potential abuses.
We need to check the PAP's monopolisation of Parliament, cabinet, economy and society- lets not allow the Presidency to be fallen to their hands as well.

One half put into the slot for candidate no. 1 then
the other half put into slot for candidate no. 2. If got 3
candidates and so on, tear into 3 and so on...
Just joking.

Ever played English chess? The most important piece is the King yet his moves and mobility is far inferior against that of the Queen's. In times of trouble, he still need to sacrifice the Rook in the 'castling' move.
But the other candidates do not appeal to me anyway..i never trust managers of funds to president a country well, not with someone who guards and create wealth but has zero records in the participation on the welfare of the people and the nation.
Unless Mr Tony Tan resigns his position with the Party and join in the fray, i will still place my hopes on our existing president.
