Chinese education here is waste of time!! even now after about 3 yrs not touching chinese words, i have diffculty writing a complete sentence..sometimes i even forgot how to write my chinese name..i cant even read a simple lian he zhao bao!!
blame it on the way they teach cl, ask us memorise words just to score that pathetic 15 marks for han zhi, ask us memorise sentences for zhao ju...ask us memorise text for zhuo wen..
n look at the way gahmen is promoting chinese in tele...just not long ago on channel 8 or u i tink, chinese proverbs final competition, those proverbs tested for pri school i dont even know lol..bet they memorise one

funny how the standard of chinese has deteriorated to such extent.
i finished my 'o's 23 yrs ago and my chinese standard is still as good as my english.
maybe the old system works better. -
Instead of complaining here, why don't you do something to improve your chinese?

You must have interest. No interest u can nv master past Intermediate stage. -

and you can certainly pick up mandarin by yourself again if you're so inclined eh ? ... it's amazing how much chinese words will come back to you if you try to get back into it again, my Chinese friends here are always sending me articles and links in chinese, after a while you'll realise, hey ! I can read and understand almost all of it ! ... -

jap was not originated frm chinese. they just adopted chinese characters as kanji. their own jap writings are hiragana and kataka.

for now...I listen to chinese songs as well as look at its lyrics...I find that it helps...a good alternative if U dun like to read newspapers. -

Later katagana is offically used just before the WWII period(finally kanji is named to be implemented after WWII).
So its actually the ancestral chinese migrate there & had invented the langauge of thier own in jap.

We dont use bloodly idioms wen we speak to chinese from china,yet we are tested on e bloodly meaning of it.,,,,,knn,ka na sai.,,,,,,,It is oso nt dat often used even in lianhe zaobao ,e bloodly idioms
THe O level is rather ok but wen u get to Ao level or HCL ......wah si buay cheem..see liao can kee siao
