If u see the history books from the Edo period they use Chinese but they invented the first use of hiragana to reduce the number of strokes but need 2 hiragan word to form one chinese word(that time kanji not even named yet)Originally posted by matrixeg:jap was not originated frm chinese. they just adopted chinese characters as kanji. their own jap writings are hiragana and kataka.
