  how much faster is a sports bike compared to a mountain bike? Ive never rode a sports bike before, so I wouldnt know...
  
  also, why the sports bikers always wear those skin tight suits and muz wear helmet de?

  those shirt is so that when they cycling the wind can pass thru.

  sports bike is faster, mountain bike is more for ruggedness and terrain.It is like comparing a sports car to a SUV 4 wheel drive.

  so...if got 2 cyclist on road both physique and fitness the same. But 1 ride sports bike wif full gear the other 1 ride mountain bike with casual wear, the sportsbike will be faster yea

  firstly, it is not a sports bike. you may call it racing or road bike.
  
  road bike, one stroke of the pedal also can propel u quite a distance. road bike is damn light. lance armstrong cycles at an average of 60km/h.
  
  i've only done 40km/h on a mountain bike. 45km/h with the help of the downhill at loyang ave.
  
  skin-tight suits consist of the jersey and the tights. tights are padded. jerseys are skin-tight to allow minimal drag force that you have to overcome. when in high speed, cyclists crouch to their handlebars to reduce the drag force too.

  why muz the tights b padded??? btw, juz now when i was going hope gt this road cyclist infront of me. so i wanna overtake dat dickz for fun then i chiong at gear7 and overtook lehz!! but then later he overtook back den i thought 'to hell w it manz' so i chase him for like more than 3km before i lost track of him...zzzz i was f.ucking devastated. even tho i had been cycling for 3hours plus before i raced him, and i was riding mountain bike...it was still f.ucking devastating

  tights must be padded coz' u dono how far these ppl cycling. 60km.. 80km. 300km in johor. sit on the seat pain for a long time pain mah.
  
  and dont try to overtake them anymore k? just follow behind them. yes, they may accelerate frm stop too slow.. but once they get into high speed.. they're damn fast. respect them, seriously.

  GT Aggressor good wad. i'm riding a 1999 GT Tempest leh. but i modify handlebar, rims, tires, seats, brakes, stem, grips, pedals, drivetrain, chain.. i think frm original till today, only the frame remains intact. everything else has been changed.

  u want to go fast.. can. but if u can go fast for 10mins only also no use rite? must constant thruout. currently i'm doing 25km/h thruout along ecp. and each time i cycle i go for 40km to 60km. lance armstrong 50+km/h for 2hrs+ leh. i take abt 15mins to clear changi coast rd. think those road bikes take only 10mins.. changi coast rd is 5-6km.

  They wear tight tight, so when they move fast fast thier clothes don't rub rub and cause skin abrasion.

  roadie can go faster due to light weight and higher gearing.. mtb can follow the roadie too, but it depends on the rider.. for example, if i cycle alone, my constant spd is abt 28~30km/h.. but if cycling in a pack, i usually draft to catch up to abt 35km/h.. normally with drafting u can go faster.. i haf a few cycling frenz they could catch up wif roadie and sometimes overtake them.. i dun wear tights/jersey cos no money buy.. wearing jersey/tights can help u improve by 1 or 2km/h.. SPD pedal/shoes can help increase speed too..
  
  road bike is limited to on the road only, so think carefully what descpline u wan to haf.. offroad/onroad/ or freeriding like street/urban/trial/downhill..
  
  my lousy bike is a wheeler pro59.. full deore '06 n hydraulic disc.. i do offroad more and i hate road rides.. but of cos stil got ride on road wif cyclin grps.. it's the rider, not the bike!

  Get a RECUMBENT BIKE!!!! It's MUCH faster den a road bike on a flat road, and faster den them on downhills, beating even some downhill MTBs (on tarmac la ) !!!!!!!

  why get a recumbent?
  
  1)very comfy even on long rides
  2)no more complains of sore balls(for the boys ) or sore butts
  3)Very much more aerodynamic den roadbikes = less effort required for the same speed.
  4)corners well
  5)no risk of u flying over handlebars in an accident ( u simply put ur feet down to the ground in an emergency stop )
  
  For me? I'm considering getting a recumbent Trike (3- wheeled Recumbent bike ) for its GOOD stability and ease of use.
  
  Dun "see no up" the Bent Trike ar! It's top speed can shock most Road bike riders!
