Love animals!?

first of all, I wouldn't say i'm an animal lover but i do not condone and respect those who treat animals with cruelty.
second, my question, i happen to chance upon the pages of the sunday times lifestyle (26 march 06) and i saw the pictures of the reader's pets. That got me thinking of a question that i would like to post to you guys.
If you like animals, Why do you have to pay to buy them?? You would have just taken care of strays... it's not like there aren't enough strays to go around. Plus, doing that would have eased the "burden" on the SPCA. So answer me, give me what you got. Cuz, i'm sick of hearing "oh i love animals! So-and-so is cruel to them..." (For crying out loud!)
On a separate issue, i heard my friend comment on a bad exprience with the SPCA. He said that once there was an accident on the roads and a motionless cat was lying on the ground (probably the casualty of the accident). his sister saw the cat and called the SPCA, all the personal at the SPCA said was "kick the cat to check if it's alive..."
Talk about Prevention of Cruelty to Animals!!

Are you carnivorous?I ask because the meat that you are eating also come from animals. Yes, i am, it's more like omnivore cuz i consume vegetables too. Isn't that what all humans are?? We consume meat and vegetables to provide us with a balance, without one of them our body will be that much weaker.

Have you seen how animals are killed to provide human being with meat on the table? Do you feel it is also cruel to kill and to consume it?

wad else can you do? if u gonna touch it, den there might be infectious diseases. and using a foreign item might injure the animal, and im sure they dun meant kick it hard. -

i dont torture animals, but i still eat meat..hmn...
but that doesnt mean that i am being cruel to animals..
killing of animals for their meat is fine as long as they are not endangered species and by killin them humanly.
But torturing of animals and leave them to die by chucking them one side is cruelty...i wonder whats going thru the minds of those psyho who grins at the pain of animals..
