I'm not that interested in AMD chipsets and the price is definately going to be very high. Given that I'm going to pay half through the sales of my current laptop and the other half by working, I will take a long time to clear the payment.Originally posted by ceecookie:wan to consider the acer ferrari 4000?

How's the pricing at ? Maybe I'll check it out and do some researches. Can fit my newly raised $2,200 budget ?Originally posted by ceecookie:hmm...wad abt fujitsu notebooks?
they look quite nice...only that the covers for the various port is plastic
but overall good
Doesn't appeals to me cause I want to do video editing on the laptop. A TFT screen might be better for me. And maybe Core Duo will be a better option for me.Originally posted by chanff8:http://www.acer.com.sg/products/aspire5500Z/psp_aspire5500Z.asp
Using this right now. All I can say is...
TAMADE!!! PRICE DROP SO MUCH!!!![]()
I know. Just called my regular salesperson. Even if she give me discount, it's only $200 off, maximum. I'm not willing to spend so much because I like to change laptop every 2 - 3 years.Originally posted by FireIce:fujitsu is definitely off ur budget
if u are willing to spend 3K, get the thinkpad T60

I basically play online games, do casual video editing, photo-shop and MS Office. I want a laptop over my desktop replacement so that I can bring along should I really decide to partner with my friend to do personalised printing and thus able to meet customer and design on the go.
Below 2KG cannot be done with Below $2,200 budget. I think 3 KG should be quite alright for me though. Acer should be alright for normal use right?Originally posted by R3SsH|n:3kg is hell...don't go for it...try to go for something below 2kg with the disc drive in it...
durable ar...from hearsay lor...i know fujitsu is quite durable...acer...i not sure...something that can withstand shock and lots of movement...
I think I'm not going to get Vista, or at least for the next one year. I don't think I'll need a 64 bit processor too.Originally posted by ShutterBug:You should think twice - because next year in January, Windows VISTA is due to be released.
If the laptop you buy now is running on 32bit processor, or simply isn't isn't VISTA-ready, you will end up having to buy another one, or stick to using XP.
But if you buy a 64bit laptop that's VISTA-ready, your $2000 budget will not be sufficient.
I'm not interested in a Mac Powerbook.Originally posted by SexyChin:Get a MacBook Pro.![]()
I think it will at least be better than Centrino or Pentium M right ? As for Core Duo, it should be quite alright I think since it's already quite awhile that it have been out.Originally posted by FireIce:vista releasing sept this year
anyway, dual core still not stable yet
got quite alotta complaints..
made the system laggy instead of faster due to the inability to load-balance efficiently
I've a Acer Laptop & Desktop and all is good and well. Thanks for the invitation. Maybe I can go Jurong Entertainment Centre though since it's nearby.Originally posted by ditzy:shade343 looking for companion to go acer service centre with him.![]()

I've a rough gauge on what I'm getting. Just want to know if the laptop I've chosen is good for my usage style. Don't really need to go any further.Originally posted by FireIce:u can choose to ignore wat i said if u are oredi pinned on wat to buy
