Free makeover scam

  Was dragged by my wife to a makeover photo shoot last Sunday after she got a call from a photo studio saying the photo shoot is free. Please be warned that this photo studio functions like one of those time-share companies.
  
  Yes the photo shoot is free, but after the session, they want you to sign up for a package that cost more than $2k, else you can only select two free photos from the many shots taken. If you donÂ’t sign up for their package, they will delete all your photos taken besides the two you selected right in front of your eyes! Even if you offer to buy additional photos from them, they will refuse and insist you either buy the whole package or choose only two free photos. Imagine spending 4 hours of your time with them and having all your photos deleted right before your eyes after you refuse to by their package.
  
  So people beware when you got a call from a tele-marketer telling you they offer you a free makeover photo shoot. This photo studio got your contact information from others who have signed up for the package. They will tell those who have signed up to recommend other friends or relatives and in return, those who recommend others receive some form of cash back.
  
  The photo studio is located near Clark Quay.

  Just received another one a few days ago on free trip to sentosa, thailand and a $100 spa voucher.
  
  That stupid auntie still replied "sentosa leh? you dun want? Thailand leh! And spa voucher leh, you know wat is spa or not?"

  There have been similar scams going around. I was cheated by a scam, but more like a sales scam.

  Thanks for the warning... These people are getting more creative with their scams... While some people don't appreciate your warning, I am not like that man, I appreciate what you did to warn the others on such issues. It helps to build some public awareness.

  yeahz.. recently alot of such scams leh.. several mths ago this girl fr a modelling agency approached me n toked alot of stuffs i cant rem.. i said i'll consider and gave me her namecard n asked me to call her if im interested.. after tat she took dwn my no.. in the end i decided nt to call coz i was v busy then and had no time fer such things.. a few wks later tat they called n bugged me to come dwn to their company for a photoshoot.. they were like relli pushy when i kept rejecting them.. end up i juz hung up on them larh.. few weeks later found out fr a fren who had a similiar experience too- the company is actually nt a modelling agency afterall, its a photshoot company.. they'll ask u to pay $$ for a photoshoot when u go dwn to the company... crazy man.. those cheaters are gettin smarter n smarter..
