Well, I don't think time machine is an idiotic invention, it's a rather dangerous thing to have.
I think something that can allow us to communicate with outer space aliens (if there are any) or something to allow us to communicate with animals, some sort of translator, that would be cool.
Teleportation device -> probably will make big logistic companies redundant unless they are the only ones who can afford them. -

Music Sharing On The Move
Something I thought of recently. It allows listeners to share their music with nearby listeners on some sort of file sharing platform. The appeal would be a completely random choice of music. Cool? Yea, it might just change the face of music sharing. -
