What do Catering Sales Executive do?

  Hi peeps!!
  
  Can anyone tell me what is the job scope of a catering sales personnel in a F & B sector?
  
  Like apart from the obvious selling. What is the ad hoc duties? What is the routine duties?
  What is expected from this career?

  more details pls, like which company, any job description.
  
  Reading the title - catering sales executive would probably encompass:
  
  a. selling catering services of the company (depending what company loh, is it a catering company or company selling catering equipment, etc)
  
  b. if it is a catering company, you will do sales, take calls for catering, note the schedules, inform kitchen
  
  c. maybe also ensure the catering is set up at location / time that customer require. Also ensure everything okay. Maybe also need to set up & pack up bah, depending on scale of the company.
  
  d. and like all job scope - any other matters as directed by your manager...hee.

  do quotations for meetings, seminars, conferences, weddings, dinner and dance, private/corporate functions....
  recommend a suitable room in the hotel and also the setup....
  arrange decoration, audio visual systems...
  inform kitchen to prep food and schedule timing to serve the food
  request for manpower
  
  some ppl may request to view the venue first
  so u have to bring them around and explain

  I am going for an interview @ a town club tmr so I tot I just like to know the gist of what I am going to expect.
  U know sometimes the interviewer ask U stuff like " So what do U know about this job" and if I tell them my perception and it is too far from what it really is.
  They might just deduct my points ... keke
