Saw a dog kill a cat

Haix, many ppl who posted here said I should help. Many of you blame me for being cold-blooded?
If you have been there, you would know how fast things happen.
The dog bite the cat, start running for about 20m away from the family of cats, dropped the kitten, dead.
I think emotionally I would help the cat if I have enough time to take in what I am seeing. -
omg the dog is sick in the head!... sad for the cats

scarlly the dog siao 1, u stop it from eating the cat and it goes after u .... song boh!!! -
maybe we shouldn't try to impose human morality onto animals...

Btw, the dog belonged to the chinese residents and the cat belongs to the malay resident on the island. They still live in kampongs, lets just hope they stil have the tolerance and do not do stupid things to each other.

What's the point of stopping the dog when the kitten is already in its mouth?

lol... i was in that programme that day... didn't espect to see the topic here... i have to agree with that guy... its just too fast... the dog was like crushing it already when we saw it so we could not have stopped it...
we also did not espect it to go killing the cats as we tot that it was just marking its territory cos it was peeing everyway...
the dog was also very friendly... we petted it and played with it and it didn't bark or growl...
so sad.... after we chased it away, the dog went one big round and went back to bite the cat for a few more seconds then went away... i think it was trying to tear it apart but realised it was jus too skinny no meat...
it was just like watching discovery channel but on the smaller size...

but the thing is y the dog only kill one kitten instead of the entire cat family......and never it was mentioned in the story that the cat was being 'makaned' by the dog....what survival u toking abt?.....if it's survival it'd mean ridding itself of all enemies present instead of just one kittenOriginally posted by chenc:Umm... I pity the kitten though.
Actually if I saw it I'd stop the dog and feed it something else.
And "instinct" is not an excuse for human abusers of animals.
Human beings who abuse animals are just plain sick in the mind. They should all be sent to IMH.

I don't think so. Other than feeding themselves, animals sometimes kill for territory and many other reason. Who knows, maybe the dog felt that those cats could hurt her own puppies. Cats over there are much more furious than the ones you see in the main island of Singapore.
Maybe its for revenge. The cats kill her puppies first.
Also, I do think the dog is slightly injured. Do you expect the kitten not to struggle or scratch at all when it was in the dog's mouth?
Would you take on 4 more enemies if you are already injured? -
Yup. Did you managed to take pictures? As far as I know, no one did. Too gruesome. We are all humans, And what makes us human are differentiate from animals are feelings of compassion.
Besides, from the behaviour and loyalty of some animals, they are the ones who have compassion compared to some human scum.
Another thing which differentiates humans from animals is to have a rational mind and like you said, compassion, and yet is able to behave in an extremely cruel manner, much worse than any other animals. -

hurrah for the dog. everyday see so many scary kittens when i go to sch. if only theres a dog here to bite them all but im afraid of dogs too.
