My classmates (around 17 - 19) play maple like freaks. Buy maple cards (if i;m not wrong its $10) and keep talking about it all day, like scroll or all those craps.
Thought maybe they are still kids.
Then again.. had a friend... a family of 4, play maple together! their house had a stack of maple card which haven't use before! (think they are like, wan to use then open).
O ya,t his includes the mother and father.
Why is maple so popular?
Its just a 2D game that jumps around. I played for a while and get bored after it. My sis say its cute and 1 month later asked me to uninstall.
Dun really get ppl nowadays... is it just me?

I play maple. I think when you gain level and your power increase you get to hit more high level monsters and be more 'pro' in the game, people look up to you and say 'wah'...... This gives you the satisfaction - same as working life or educational achievements. You climb up the corporate ladder, you get a degree or even higher... people who can't achieve that will be so anvious of you.
So when you can't achieve the same thing in real life, you get the achievement in cyber world. Just like when you can't get something you tend to dream about them.
Just my humble thoughts.

Somehow I find this utterly hilarious.
Anyway, just 5 years ago all my classmates were crazy over neopets.

I mean, playing online games is alright, talking about it sometimes is of course, normal…but when u get to the point when u use game terms in daily life and communication, something is very wrong…like for example, when my bunkmate comes out from the toilet after taking a crap, he says things like “wah…shiok. Agility +10” Or during fast marches, some of my platoon mates go “eh don’t walk so fast leh sergeant, today never wear my boots of speed” or “wah, just now XXX kana pwn by platoon sergeant” FOR PHUCK’S SAKE GROW UP

LOL
The use of "pwned", "owned", "pwnage" is common... especially when you go play in US based server games... it can get pretty funny
