i was there for 7 days
stayed with relative near causeway bay......
eat, shop, sleep, eat, shop, sleep
go see big buddha, ocean park, the peak...... -
HK not exactly a cheap place to go, especially if you are going to stay at hotels and such. I find the hotel and food costs taxing after a while, not to mention transport.
If its the first visit, 4 days 3 nights shld be sufficient if you just target those touristy places. 3 days is cutting a bit fine but still do-able but more tiring loh.
Plan your route carefully, i.e. visit all the places on HK island together as I found to my horror, crossing between Tsim Tsa Tsui and HK Island is not cheap by train or bus. The cheaper alternative is to take the Star Ferry.
Otherwise HK is a nice place and I look forward to visit again. Cheers and enjoy ! -
one trip 3 days is enough for me already.

3 days is a little too short, coz you would probably lose roughly half a day on arrival and half a day on the day of departure to go to the airport. And if you're going to walk the countryside, then you'll need more time.

4D 3N would be better

3D 2N will be abit rush, cos u will need to spend at least a day in ocean park if u plan to visit that place. theres so many places in HK to visit u might not have the time to finish off everything in 3D2N. The best solution i can give u is, upon reaching HK, fix urself up with a tour grp for 1 day so u get to see most of the attractions for at least awhile. Shop urself, cos a tour grp will only give u abit of time for shopping which is definately not enuff.

Tsim Sha Tsui near the convention centre - see the nice harborview (both day and night)
Starlight Walkway (or something like that) - been before liao so won't go back again.
Disneyland ?
- alongside can visit other scenic spots in Lantau Island - eg: Big Buddha & eat tow huay at the bottom of the temple
- take the cable car - Ang Ping 360
Take star ferry go HK island; take tram on HK island
The Peak - at night
Lan Kwei Fung
Temple street / Woman street mkt
Stanley - touristy but i always go there enjoy the scenery
take ferry to Macau
eat roasted goose - here dun have

i just went there, 5d4n and its still not enough. just mongkok already cannot finish shopping for 2 nights..

oh and i would advise you to go longer, since you already paid that much for the plane tix, might as well make full use of it and have a fruitful and enough trip, instead of having a packed schedule during your stay.
