  Auditors checks accounts to make sure all items are accounted for
  accountants do data entry, eg. from invoices, etc

  Want to be auditor must have accounting background. Go study ACCA
  Want to be accountant you do not need although it is good to have auditing background.
  Auditor more pay better career prospect but more stressful.

  While an auditor do have to check the accounts and make sure that they are accounted for, an accountant must still make sure that the number of mistakes made are at the minimum. If you make lots of blatant mistakes, obviously you are going to get the fried cuttlefish.
