  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
  
  ...is an idealistic mindset I'm sure many hope to achieve.
  
  One may always emphasize and claim to be a strong believer that inner beauty rules over superficial beauty.
  
  But when faced with a certain real-life situation, who will really pick an average-looking person with a gem for a heart over a beautiful face with an average character?

  if you are talking about being fair of face, that's "pretty" which is very different from "beauty"

  Beautiful = someone who'll stand out from the crowd in terms of looks
  Average = a face that isn't striking in any way
