Two men arrested for molesting New Year's Eve revellers on Orchard Road
SINGAPORE: Over 1,000 policemen patrolled the streets of Orchard Road to maintain law and order on New Year's eve, and their presence was welcomed by some as amid the merry-making, some couldn't keep their hands to themselves.
Police received two complaints of molest and two men were arrested on the spot.
Revellers came armed with cans of foam sprays and literally painted the town red, blue, green and yellow.
Police had to step in and warned some from being carried away on the party high.
Officers from the National Environment Agency were also out in force in Orchard Road and Marina Bay.
13 illegal hawkers were fined for peddling foam sprays, party ware, food and drinks to the revellers.
