Is selling Movies related stuffs infringment of copyright ?

Like printed movie posters..Mug..pencil box..shirt..bags etc?
Like say i bring in Borat the movie T-shirt and sell it to the public is it wrong?
Cos i heard mine one fren said tat it is not wrong as in some ways i help promote their movie
2nd the movie industry has no business in the accessories factor which mean i am not in watsoever ways stealing thier business or competing with them So i will not be sue of damages or loss of profits
3rd movie titles are not 'patented' or trademark registered as long as i dun go interfere or alter or sell their movie i am safe
And mine fren told mi tat merchants are allowed to retail power rangers products in pasar malam he didt see why i couldt.
How true is this..? Please advise me as i dun wana go against the law

u must go to relevant authorities...
Of cos.. if u bring in Borat merchandise.. who would be checking you... authorities will take action... if the company reports it...
but hollywood so far.. dun think they wan to cum to sg to check.. -
As long as you are not infringing any copyrighted characters like Mickey Mouse and Batman, it should be fine...
Me also have lots of movie souvenirs like movie one-sheets, full length banners and tee shirts... -

even if you did help promote the movie, they are still entitled to royalties from you. nothing in this world is free.
+1 Royalties have to be paid on all trademarked stuff. So must apply for permission to sell the merchendise and negotiate the royalty amount before you start selling

Mine fren told me as long it doest have a TM logo besides it or stated anyway in it it is not trademarked stuff..And why would Borat the movie goes to the trouble to trademark it? They are not like in the fashion industry to selling clothes,bags,shoes etc..They are in the movie industry their business is in the movie.
For what i know..Those big cat hollywood wont disturd u unless they themselves is in the accessories business themselves..
And from what some pple say if i kana sue by them for just a small thing..I can actualli counter-sue them by sueing how valid their patent their trademark is or some sort of it..
No matter what its is i dun wana fight with a mutli-billion movie industry for just over selling a mug of borat the movie item lolz... -
