Scholarships

  Hi guys.. Any1 know of companies offering scholarships? Can you pls list them down here.. Btw, I am talking about undergrad scholarships for local unis because i'll be enrolling in aug and want to get a scholarship if possible. Preferbly those not too big company and private sector because a lot of people applying for those.

  most scholarships do come from the public sector
  
  but the local banks and some foregin based MNCs do actually sponsor your studies, locally or overseas... you got to do some job searching though... although i think getting into a bigger organisation like SIA, Sembcorp or NOL where there are scholarships avaliable is not a bad idea, since the company is big and there is a ladder to climb.

  I didnt know potential scholars dunno how to use google or even the uni's website to find info.
  
  at the very minimum...the uni's webiste will have the info U want.just that U have to go look for it.

  eh.. I tink my results are good. But not outstanding those kind.. So i sure lose to those govt. or big scholarships that have tons of people fighting.

  why do u need a scholarship for? prestige? career? sponsorship?
  
  the biggest problems with scholarship are the bonds. since u r studying in local U. best is to just take the local tuition loan which can pay fully for your uni fees plus monthly allowance, comparable to a scholarship.
  
  unless you can get a bond-free scholarship, tat will be the best. such as uni scholarships, foundation scholarships, and some banks offering them. the list can be found in the recruit's scholar on certain saturdays during this period. the junior colleges will also have handbooks on the scholarships available in singapore.
  
  if u r taking it for the prestige or sponsorship, please do reconsider as it will determine your path for the next 10 years of your life. i have many friends who have taken scholarship only to find once they have started on their bond, it is too late to have a career change.
  
  and i can assure you that once u start work after graduation, there will be companies (in the private sector) who will give u enough renumerations to finish paying your tuition fees in less than half a year.
