Anyone know what these are called?

They're sort of like metal piercings in your body, and you can tie laces around them. They look kinda cool and I might get them (those pierced on your back instead of side) someday when I move away from my parents. But I still need to do a little research first, cause my main concern is the scaring involved, so does anyone know what these are called?

Anyway, like I said, I'm still curious about it and I need to do more research. If I find out that it causes heavy scarring I'll probably veer clear from it forever.

girl, they're extreme piercings and usually result in a LOT of pain, a LOT of scarring and in a lot of cases, medical problems from infections and stuff like that...
buy a corset instead yah? -
This one was the one that got me hooked onto the whole thing actually. My sister sent me this from her phone by bluetooth and it's currently my handphone wallpaper. Most of these are only temporarly, for about 1 - 3 months which was what I expected, but the redness I see on the skin from some pictures looks a little scary. Ahhhhhh, thanks anyway. -
hmm.. 1 - 3 months is enough to cause a lot of scarring
maybe i'm old-fashioned but i like stroking the skin of my partner.. things like that, make me afraid that i'll hurt her if i inadvertently catch the piercing with a finger or a ring...

Anyway I just read through several sites briefly, and it seems that almost most of the scarring is caused by incompetent/negligent piercers that use the wrong method of piercing (the image on top; you can obviously see from the redness of the skin), where they use a ring to pierce instead of a surface bar (as seen below).
