Even tho I know the story behing the show but after watching it, cant help but have new profound respect for King Leonidas and the 300s (and others which were non spartan troops)
It occurs to me that, if they didnt make the sacrifice, the world we live in now may be very very different:
Greek civilization may be wiped out, hence no more stories of Zeus, Athena, Odyssus, Troy.
No more greek philosophers and historians, greek science and mathematics advances.
No more Alexander the Great (who was born over 100 yrs after the battle).
One thing that I still cant resolve is I wonder if I am brave enough to make the sacrifice that they did given the same circumstances

There is nothing worth fighting for really. In the end you still take another human's life in war. When it comes to killing, you might hesitate to take another human being's life. In the case of aliens, we can be merciless, because it's two defined sides. No one will condemn you for killing something that wants to eat you and the person beside you alive.

What your read is wrong...the 300 was chosen 1 reason was that they had kids to carrying on their bloodlines... even tho I wont be surprise if they are bisexual or something, since greek society back then was pretty open.Originally posted by shade343:o.O

They only have 300 men to fight because the majority of their men were participating in Olympics game for the trophy of a oliver wreath, and honor. How much does honor cost in Singapore? -
