STOMPer Andrew was horrified to discover maggots in his Ferraro Rocher chocolate when he bit into it.
The 27-year-old banker found five of the individually wrapped chocolate pieces infested with maggots on Sunday, 8 April, even though the expiry date for that particular box is 30 September 2007.
He had bought the chocolates at the Guardian pharmacy outlet in West Mall, just before the Chinese New Year holidays.
He opened the box two weeks later and ate several pieces. The chocolates appeared and tasted fine then. He subsequently closed the plastic box of chocolates and stored it in his room.
He reopened the box for the first time since, on Sunday, when he discovered the five pieces of maggot-filled chocolate after consuming one piece.
Andrew told STOMP, “I suffered from stomach upset and diarrhoea in the afternoon, the next day. I think it was because I ate that one piece.”

He probably smashed it opened then discovered something unexpectedly. -
No wonder. Damn. I eat at least 2 piece of chocolate bars daily. And last few days, I sh*t very often and water water de. Diu! Must claim medical fees from them.
