Again, as I said in your other thread, what makes you think other countries want you? Go see if you've got enough points before you even consider whether to move.
Just a breakdown for those of you wondering ..
Day-day cost of living in Australia is much higher than in Singapore; although the actual cost of major expenses are much lower. Decent accomodation would run you anywhere from $300k to $800k depending on location/age etc. Of course, cars are much cheaper; current petrol prices this morning stands at $1.34 - 4cents (with $30 coles rebate).
Tax is much higher here. It is based on your income. >$60k, you'd be looking at a massive chunk gone; go see the Aus. Tax Office's rates on their website.
An average meal outside will cost you $10 ppax and this aint at some fancy restaurant either; a normal eatery. Even eating at home isn't exactly cheap.
And just since the TS is thinking in cents, and not dollars

..
1) Haircut = $20; Asian stylists charge $30 for men, and much higher for ladies depending on length.
2) Cinema tickets = $9 I think for students, or $11 I forgot ... much higher; and there's no sweet popcorn here, and that salty crap costs alot.
3) No such thing as ZINC or Newbie here; clothes will run you anywhere from $50-$110 from a nice boutique e.g. Tarocash. Of course you could buy your clothes from KMart or target.
4) New release games here cost $100 - by comparison in Singapore, it's half that.
5) Clubbing here for men - door entry $10-20, unless you have friends here, then often it's waived, drinks will cost $10 for a good bottle of beer unless out of the tap, but I don't drink crap.
Anymore questions shoot.
Cost of living in Melbourne is much higher, but nobody I know has ever told me they prefer life in SG; I know alot of people who say they miss SG, but that's on a totally different level.
The above prices are all in AUD, and the rate stands at about 1AUD=1.25SGD (give an take a few cents for fluctuation).
