      how comes the term 'hwan nah' is used to describe the malays? what does 'hwan nah' means btw? Confused

      The origin of keling kia was that last time, Indian dhobies used to peddle their services with a bell (similar to a bicycle bell) Hence, the effect of “Keling-keling” when they come to announce their arrival. Soon after, people will start asking whether that keling keling got come..so that their laundry can be washed…

      didn't read all that is in the article but the real meaning is hokkien word.

      Hwan is actually... means barberians... Kia is son...

      Anyway no matter the race is like Romans, Greek, Chinese or what soever we tend to call other race to be barberian unlike to us. Like Mongolian Xiong Nu... or also baberian slave...

      Japanese as pirates

      Native Taiwanese as mountain people. Etc etc...

      More advance civiliation always like to call others these.... even like romans would call britons baberians although they are actually in the iron age. Gauls and even egyptians are all baberians. How about the americans to the nigger?
