When you cease being visually-able, you don't cease being an able person.
In fact, if you're blind, you may actually be able to see what the average person cannot see, and perform certain tasks better than the average person. Such as playing music.
If you think that you're better off dead if you're blind, then by all means go and seek death. Not because you're blind and thus a burden, but because you've lost the will and courage to tackle adversity and thus you're a burden. -

If i were blind, i'd rather help people and tell people to learn to appreciate their sight even more -

I don't know if its just some kid trying to be funny.
But apparently on the Pokemon Diamond board of GameFaqs, there's a blind man playing Pokemon. He started a thread to ask whether he can still use buttons on the ds instead of touch screen coz he can't see and thus can't use the touch screen well...
Then later ppl started asking him how he played, den he said Pokemon is a unique game as in when you bump into something a sound is made, so he can just cling to the wall and keep playing.
And he even told the people not to be afraid to ask any questions on how he gets by, he even posted his AiM... -
