Local TV serials and sitcom can compare with HK or Korea?

Hi,
Do you think local TV serials and sitcoms can compare with Hong Kong or Korean production?
IMO, cannot.
Reason:
1. Story all super predictable.
2. Acting all over-reacted. Where got Singaporean in real-life run around with so much drama. The casts always have very simplistic characterisation. Sad---they cry. Angry ...they shout... so simplistic....
3. The drama is not grounded in reality.. See already cannot believe it can happen.

Hong Kong serials also getting predictable... but I still prefer Hong Kong serials over Singapore ones.

korean dramas are supper predictable much more so than sg ones. and hk ones getting predictable too.
simplistic? not sure. yeah acting not that good. but then i would say the same of alot of those korea actors -

I prefer Singapore's production even though it sux... it got the homely feel.
Korean one no need say, SUCKS BIG TIME... I just don't like, seems like they were made to con aunties de...
HK 1 interesting.
But Singapore use the best camera technique very clear de. -

the more i cant stand when on msia mandarin tv serials...

no way. Our scripts are so boring and uninspiring, even the actors can't take it & complain. still very conservative la our media.. this too risque that too political..

yes, i think singapore chinese tv serials is better than any bullshit from korea and the tired old shite from hong kong. Because i can relate more to local written stories acted out by local people. Why wouldn't you?
As always, there are good and bad serials. But i must say if you watch serial like xi lin men aka happy fish aka double happiness or holland v, then you can see some really good storylines and acting. Also last year hai de er zhi by lee nan xing and christopher lee is really good.
Then the really bad one are like mars vs venus.
The main problems i can see with the local chinese drama serial is that the number of quality production has dropped as in quality drama are seen less often compare to last time. I'm sure the fact that there is no more competition does not help at all. Also mediacorp tend to overuse the same old people and seem unwilling to use a wider range of actors and repeat the same cast more or less.
But overall, i'm still happy, i think the next big drama starting soon in the 7pm slot will be a interesting one to see what standards mediacorp is at these day.
