Think about it. An ang moh in Singapore most most most likely is from overseas. Overseas ang moh come here either as an expatriate or student or tourist.
The ang moh selling keychains is most likely not an expatriate or a student. So that makes him a "tourist".
What sort of tourist buy an airplane ticket to another country to sell keychains? Unless he knows he can easily make a small fortune by ripping off the general public!
How can a jobless ang moh be in Singapore? Only as a tourist. Buy air ticket come to singapore sell ridiculously priced keychains for 3 months, then fly back to europe/whatever. Then come again after a while.
You might not know, but many of the so-called beggars who sell tissue paper and keychains are actually earning more than most of the people who help to buy from them. -

I've read so many incidents of rich "beggars", it's not even funny anymore!
If people think about it carefully, there is absolutely no way that a GENUINE jobless foreigner beggar can exist in Singapore, not to mention this is a jobless ang moh. We are talking about Singapore, not Malaysia leh. Foreigners can't just come and leave this country easily without proper visa and proper travelling tickets. How can a GENUINE foreign beggar land in Singapore? Only if:
1)He posed as a tourist, then turned into a beggar after he hit the streets. Wow! International beggar flying over the globe seeking money! Then I also want to quit my job and be like him.
or
2)If he is young, his father might be an expatriate here. He is just fooling singaporeans around by posing as a beggar and ripping off money.
Do you all know how much such keychains cost? Less than S$0.50, handmade or whatever. Can you imagine how much he is making each HOUR? Let's say he spends 5 minutes (actually only need 3 minutes) at each KFC/McD/BurgerKing/whatever restaurant, and let's say he only sells 1 keychain in each restaurant (not counting cases where a whole table of all too common stupid sg girls who ooze at the sight of male ang mohs and buy 4 keychains together).
That means he is easily making 12*1*S$4.5 = S$54 per HOUR!
I know many of us are kind hearted, but please be discreet and don't simply dish out your sympathys for no good reasons. Otherwise you are just being exploited. -

We give money to beggars because we think they are desperate and need help. But if they are not desperate but still beg for money, then you are being exploited.
The GENUINE beggars are the ones who beg at the vicinity of their "home" or whatever place they sleep. If a "beggar" can afford to travel overseas to beg, then he/she is not a GENUINE beggar. -

Singapore means full of Asians? So a Singaporean can be a Chinese, a Malay, an Indian, Ang Moh? NONONO?
Did you ever think the possibilities that he might be a local? Born in Singapore?
Btw, I am not sure about this guy in question. But all the Ang Mohs (bout 3) I encountered so far selling key chains will show you a card explaining themselves. And they will always include the association they belong to. Some handicapped association based in Singapore.
This kind of fund collection is not new, but started out like 2 years ago, as far as I know. Singapore has agencies that monitors charities, especially after NKF incident. And if you really want to find out, just Google their website. i doubt they can remain undiscovered if they are fakes.
