i have this fked up sis who tinks she owns the internet in the house.. currently like downloading a million things in her laptop and maybe sending her frens some stuff, while sucking up all the bandwidth. she tink she own the internet? my internet here is now fkin slow and check out my CS best latency (when she did not use laptop, best was 10+)
also went to speedtest.net, my download spd was like 70+? wtf?
without ehr using laptop, was like maybe 4k?
can any1 teach me how tpo limit bandwidth to other com and give me more? that would teach her a lesson -
now i cant do anything.. even surfing website takes long.. i took 2minutes to put up that image

1st of all, who is paying for the internet connection - if it is your sis, then obviously she has the right to use.
I wonder what is she downloading? Movies, songs - all illegal....let her know that...

what gives you more right to the internet bandwidth than her?
the router doesn't discriminate unless you set it to, which i assume you haven't
in that case, she's not hogging the bandwidth per se. She's just using what you're not.
Imagine a queue for bandwidth access. You have already stated your rights are equal, so you obviously should not be allowed to cut queue. Your sis has her computer constantly queuing up for bandwidth the moment she is done with a file. You only queue when you want to surf/play games. As a result, she has more "people" queuing up for her, thus her increased bandwidth spending power.
Let's compare this to a school canteen. Say class A has 40 ppl and class B has 5.
The students line up to the only canteen food stall open, and when a student has finished ordering, he lines up again at the back of the queue to buy more food. You'll find that the total food obtained by class A will always be more than class B, obviously. But there's nothing unfair about it.
So really, she has done nothing wrong(apart from the possible copyright issues). In fact, she's maximizing your family's return on investment on the subscription of your internet access. You are proposing a artificial barrier to entry to the access of shared resources, which is always inefficient, if not downright unfair.
But all that is redundant because it's always about looking out for yourself, isn't it? -
whats so difficult? just delete the mac address belonging to your sis's laptop inside the router config.

ban her ip from accessing the internet lor -
disable wireless by logging into ur modem, mostly is cmd, type in ipconfig/all, get the default gateway address and type that in the address bar...

Talk to her, I believe she's not that unreasonable right? Tell her you want to use the internet too and ask her to dl when you're not at home. Sometimes it's about give and take.

Since your parents arethe ones paying for the internet ervice, why don't you work out a schedule between you and your sis so that both of you can enjoy the service to the max?
If the speed crawls for you whenever your sis uses the internet as well, wouldn't it oso crawl for her when you are using it? If your sis is not complaining, why should you?

Dont do anything drastic to cut her connection or limit her connection.....Just talk to her abt ur problem...tell her u have slow speed....just talk to her...
U can suggest that she download 1 thing at a time only....
btw p2p applications is bad.....u can suggest to her some websites......so she can download faster and at 1 go...instead of many downloads all queueing slowly.....use FTP instead of P2P.
So...just talk to her...and suggest FTP.....and 1 download at a time...
If she is unreasonable......then talk to ur parents ask for help...
