I vaguely remember having had one before. And it was surprisingly good! If I not wrong, the kitchen was actually a bus...so food was steaming hot and cooked on the spot type

It used to be a norm in the 80s. Back then, many weddings are held at the void deck by default. -

the chinese are very impressionistic...(if there's such a word)
to have a wedding dinner on a void deck is deemed as stingy and 'bo-chup' in meticulous planning.
However, I'm sure not everyone has such ample monetary resources or time to organise such a mega huge event. SUre it's a supposedly once in a lifetime event, but truth is.. it's the years after the wedding that are far more critical than a wedding night.

I have 10 uncles and aunties from my mother side. 8 out of 10 of them had their wedding dinner at the void deck. The reason being that my mother family runs a business that specilises in chinese wedding dinners back then. I remember one of my uncle had 5 days of wedding dinner in a row at the viod deck. Everynight, there are more tha 300 guests who attended as there are 30 tables being served. The only thing I rememeber about the dinner is that the food were delicious and the standard of the food can beat the restuarant food. If anyone of you are interested in planning your wedding dinner at the void deck, I can give you more information.
