Buddy, I have a few friends who are overweight, but they definitely don't stink more than my slimmer friends.
Let's put it this way. Our perspiration in itself is odourless. It's when the perspiration is being exposed to the bacteria in the air then an odour starts to form.
It' really boils down to the matter of personal hygiene. There is no scientific evidence that overweight people perspire more than slim people.
Let me name a few factors that contributes to the creation of the odour:
1) A person who has a higher metabolism rate plus hyperactive sweat glands. These people tend to perspire more and if personal hygiene is not taken care of, then odour may be created.
2) A person who has poor personal hygiene..e.g. perspire a lot..but don't bathe often. 'Re-use clothings for many days'
E.g. a fit athelete who leads an active lifestyle. However, when it comes to personal hygiene, he/she is too lazy to take note. They find it troublesome to keep bathing when they perspire a lot of times per day, due to their sporty lifestyle. They rather let their perspiration dry up. Again, this may contribute to odour.
In summary, do not typically sterotype overweight people. It is a myth that they smell more than slim people. At the end of the day, it really boils down to personal hygiene. Fit/Fat/Sporty/Lazy people..whether you want to smell nice or not...it's up to you...AND YOU ALONE.
