For me, yesterday I accidentally step onto them behind the cookhouse. Came the cookhouse uncle who advise me to apologise to it. Thinking its stupid and my recruits might laugh at me, I ignore it. So last night while bathing in the toilet, I had the experience of the shower water keep changing its volume. Meaning to say that the water would sometimes become small, and sometimes become big. Its unusual as I normally did not experience this before.
Soon after finish, while I was wiping with my towel, I felt a 'strong' push from the side of my shoulders , sending me tumble over the knock onto some pails , creating lots of noise. Immediately, my pc mates came and ask me wad happen. I explained to them but they did not believe, thinking that I might be too tired and lost my balance. I went back to the cookhouse uncle and ask advise from him, and he said that the 'thing' had been following me after I refused to apologise to the offerings I've step.
Tonight , I'm gonig to send some offerings to the same place as the uncle suggest. -

the same goes to offerings made to the chinese god etc..
there are some things which is better to trust than to ignore.
as for how to avoid the currentl problem, go out in the morning, absorb more Yang Qi and stay off Yin Qi ..they are the Sun and the Moon Respectively..
Make some offerings to the temple if you want..I suggest it's best that you make a trip down there..

Hmmm.......some replies about the TS topic are totally disrespectful or naive. Dun play play with the 7th month offerings that are laid out on the sidewalks. Especially those still having lighted fires and embers on the offerings.
Give these offerings the respect they deserve! You' gonna be sorry if you mess around with these live offerings!
Eventhough I personally dun practice this 7th month offerings, I always show my respect by not stepping, crossing over or kicking [whether purposely or accidently] these offerings.
Don't try to experience what would happen to you by being disrespectful to these beings!!

A friend fo mine once stepped on it the next day his head and face swelled up like a watermelon so his parents took him to several taoist priest but still the same.Finally they brought him to SGH tested his blood and found that he is allergic to Panadol>
