Wah! damn a$$ lea. went to polyclinic today and waited for like almost 2.5hrs before seeing the doctor and guess wad the doctor asked me??! "What medicine you need?"
but didn't dare to sae much..cos 2 weeks ago seen doctor and he gave me flu and panadol oso..since i have so many panadol so asked for runny nose de nia. =\
den i left the room within 3 minutes. omg. waste time..
den reached home, kenna scolded by my parents..
"how come so silly!? ask for everything la! where got doctor ask patient wad he wan de!? omg!"
that night, we went to our family doctor (have to walk..*sobs*)..and he discovered that i got throat infection. =\
thanks ar, polyclinic doctor. i'll forever remember ur name! >

public service ma. cheap = poor service = long waiting times
you never heard before, haven't die, wait and wait until die already
and polyclinic medicine are cheap and safe, so you don't worry too much, ask for what medicine you need and recover more impt -
You sure this person is a doctor? Should suspend his/her license. Ask what medicine you need...

with the crap we are getting at polyclinics, might as well pay more for a private GP. save yourself the trouble of misdiagnosis and catching more diseases from other sick people.

Oi! Oi! Relax lah..... It's not for you to suspend his licence. You can write to the Medical Association or mebbe even the Ministry of Health to lodge a complaint for the doctor's unprofessional attitude. The Assn will then conduct their investigation but unless the doctor behaves like that all the time, unlikely he'll be nailed lah.......
You may want to consider talking to the press to highlight this poor service and at the same time thrust yourself into the limelight......

nowadays with rising rates of public health services, i tend to choose private sectors. my recent injury caused me much money but at least i am happy with their service and attention.
public sector will always be looked upon as cheaper even though it may not neccessarily be true.
be wise, not kiasu. -
did the dr examine your throat and listen to your chest?

since you can afford 2 go 2 private clinic, dun clog the queue lah, some people need the panadol mah

ho, i hate polyclinic too. i remember me 19 yr old case.
i vomit, and lau sai. till jia lat. *its first time* then i cant move, because if i vomit, my sai will come out. and keep staining on my shorts. OK...nvm, my MAMA..make a wrong decision. she company me go polyclinic, whereelse, me hse downstair got clinic she bo go. *but i kuku also sick ma.* anyway, i think becos if go polyclinic is free or what, cos my father is a retired police..*i cant remember free bo la*
i wait and wait, go toliet go toliet, at last my turn, i remember i bery fast come out also, ok nvm!!..
go home, i eat 2-3 times medicine, and i puke out.!!. 1 day passed, me still not recover,!!!, so my mum bring me to private clinic, and bring the old medinice too. Guess what the doctor say,
He look at the medicine and surprise, and laugh a bit out, saying how come they give you kids medicine!!!...
the medicine is for KIDS!. anyway i eat one time the private doctor medicine, i ok liao. FOOD POSIION is what i have. -

polyclinics *shakes head* i never liked them. The wait time is totally ridiculous - imagine if u keng MC... by the time u wait and get ur MC, half the day would have gone by - might as well go to wrk tio bo?
Anyway I kinda suspect the quality of medical service provided by polyclinics.
A few years back, I went to YCK Polyclinic hoping to get a referral letter to a specialist due to chornic foot pain. The doc pressed a little here, a little there... then says that there's no broken bones... no inflamation... etc. (duh) - it was only after I inisisted then he sent me for an x-ray. Fast forward 2 weeks later... went back to collect my x-ray results and guess what was written on the x-ray report? "No Lung Leision". I was like WTF?! and all the doc could say was... it's probably no problem, and that it was probably a typo error... and had to cheek to question if I x-rayed the "correct part". Asked if I could see the x-rays, told that I gotta wait... gahhh... anyway I just went f**k it & nvr went back.
Nice service huh? Wrote to the Straits Times forum & received no response... as expected -
someone should prolly take action against it.
i remember my mom telling me that my grand dad went to a polyclinic whenever he felt sick. the doctor there told him it was nothing and constantly gave him medication like pain killers.
one day he met his friend, and his friend brought him to a proper doctor, and my grand dad was told he was having cancer.
shortly after he died.
so, i've never went to a poly clinic in my entire life. -

sigh, sounds like doctors in our polyclinics are so overloaded with patients, the safety of patients is being compromised. is that what our government hopes to provide as subsidised healthcare?
