i got a call today, by a china lady, saying from some tv station, doing survey for mobile fones
i blabbered something in incoherent thai
she blur, thinking im not chinese, then dunno mumble simi then she hang up -
i also got phonecalls chasing me for payments of goods i didn't buy.....

Twice someone from China called me, but both times my hp on silent, so i didn't hear it.
I tried to check for the province, but can't find. Only fond the call is from china. Also someone from HK sms me about some "pin guo dian nao gong shi" (apple computer company) thingy, that I won this and that.
I don't answer overseas calls unless I'm expecting one. -

I got led through this process to the end too.
some HK person called up, ask me do survey, then say they got stef sun to partake in their event.
They doing something for the IR in SG, then told me to stay tuned for their show, or to be there.
But HK leh, impossible to be there one what. 1 week later call me told me i win 3rd prize, then say dun need to pay anything, a few days later the lawyer office will call me.
The lawyer guy called me, then asked for all my particulars. I gave it to them, thought wah really got chance to win prize lei. $66,666 not small sum! (Yea, why all the sixes again? they tie up with someone we know is it?), and they said they'll put it in an account.
Then ask me to call this number (presumably a bank), and got automatic record one. damn power. I had to key in my bank account number and then the recorded voice told me i had $66,666 inside.
Ah yes, the guy also told me to be nice, and look at their sponsor's website, which is entirely in chinese, and looks rather.. normal.
Later then the lawyer said i had to put in 3k worth for 5% of the taxes thing, cause he quote me some statute that in HK any prizes won above $10k must have a cert or something.
It was all very cleverly done, to make me think i had really won something.
But of course i'm not so stupid to just pay the 3k. Heck, i don't even HAVE 3k. He told me to lend from someone, then say can pay back a few minutes after i get the money.
What made me initially suspicious was that while i was talking to the 2 of them, got other people call in and thank them for getting the money.
I did some research, and i found out that their logo was actually from some other REAL hotel. the website's down now but it used to be dyent88.com
Other than my personal particulars, and some HK airtime, i didn't lose much. But i learnt that if its too good to be true, it usually is.
I think what these companies do, is to paint a very realistic picture of everything. Invite you for events that is just not possible for you to attend, then tell you that you've won some big prize.
Its not just greed that they're playing on. I mean, who could not use an extra few thousand ? or a few hundred thousand? This is the same principle as buying 4d, Toto mah.
But yea, do keep a look-out for these companies. I actually got a missed call 2 times before i picked up the third time (in the span of 2 weeks). -
They called me a coupld of times and i always come up with different reasons.
First time i told them i am busy.
Second time i tricked them into believing i dont speak mandarin.
Third time i just hung up the phone after i hear a china-accent voice.
Still waiting for the forth time. I'd pretend to me Mao Ze Dong then.

I also received a phone call telling me that I have won the 2nd prize of their charity draw. This time round, the organizer is "Venetian Macau" okay...somemore they said the event was broadcast over pheonix tv on sunday n urge me to watch the live telecast to see that my number was one of the lucky 10 to win the 2nd prize.
And now their tactics had changed. They no longer asked you for your bank account number outright but they insist thay I have to go to Macau personally to claim the prize, then pay 2.5% to the Macau Social Welfare Depatment or something like dat.
So I played along with them loh, to see when they will start asking me for my bank account number. So when the "lawyer" called, I asked him for his license number so I can check with the relevant authorities that he start giving some stupid excuses...*lol* I say I will call him back to arrange an appointment wih him when I settle my matters in singapore to fly over there.. Like I will ever will..
We shall see if they dare to call me back again.
I also called the CAD this morning to report this case, and the officer in charge said they have recieved several calls regarding this venetian macau thing.

me too also received such call few months ago...and then tok tok then she asked me to go sentosa for dunno what f*** lucky draw event....and i din bother to go even it's my off day.... ...and just recently i was at work she called me again..and upon identifying herself..i hanged up on her straight... ..think next time if she calls again, i will ask her for a date make her drunk and then....(dun need me to say right?)

At 1st I dun believe, but they keep on convince me. Ask me to provide my Bank A/c no for them to bank in.
Then their captain LIU HUIMIN called, adv me on hw to get the money. she said i need to pay taxes of S$30,000/- to their HK government & a legal fees of S$5280/-. But taxes can be paid later while the legal fees need to be paid 1st in order to get the prize.
Another guy called WANG ZHICHENG told me to bank into this a/c:

I was so stupid & I went to pay it.
Then they asked another guy from HK Turf Club called ZHANG JIE to call me to verify my details. waited for an hr, he called me & claimed tht these prizes only entitled to their HK club members which costs S$25,000/- each. I told them I'm not member, then he said he had told his boss & allowed me to pay a temporary membership of S$10,000/- so to get the prizes.
I ALREADY REPORT IT TO POLICE, I KNOW ITS TOO LATE FOR ME TO GET BACK MY MONEY BUT I STILL WANT TO LET ALL PPL KNOWS....
THIS IS A SCAM, MONEY CHEATERS, CON-CASE. SO FRENZ, PLS BEWARE IF U GOT ANY THESE TYPES OF PHONE CALLS.
RECENTLY, THERE'S ALOT OF SIMILAR CASES LIKE KIDNAPPING ASKING FOR RANSOM, WINNING LOTTERY ETC....

from the same person i think and the most funny part is they i got the same entry ID as u, AK5058
called me on friday, few weeks back, ask about my chinese name and gave me the id call me to go for the event which is held on saturday which i didnt attend.
than on saturday afternoon, the same person called me n said that i have won a prize from the lucky draw and i was like
and she asked me to go down to JB to take the prize on monday which i said i will go (but i heck it)
they called me continuously for 3 days but i didnt answer the call and my voice mail somehow got their number, +65 96301389(overseas)
hope this can help u to track those scums down
