JC students juz do not have that type of freedom...
and i dun feel that JC is better den poly or poly is better den JC... its all up to personal preference and attitude... if ur the type that loves to study and mug for exams, den JC is the path for u... or if u like to be more hands on and do lab work, get experience thru attachment(altough mine was like crap), den go for poly... and going jc may mean its easier to go into uni, but poly has its good points too... the top 5~10% can skip 1st year of uni.. even if ur not top of the cream, u can still skip 1st 3~6 mths(i think) of uni since u have gone thru attachment and have experience the "working life"... but only if the uni course is related to ur poly course...
there will always be the argument of JC vs Poly... but i hope that this will help o lvl takers... -

First of all , do you have a basic degree? ( or a trade skill in demand, like plumbing)
Second of all , do you have a job?
Thirdly, do you have a postgraduate degree? (that is if you don't have a trade skill)
Fourthly , do you even have your own assets ( not daddy's or mommy's) above at least 200K?
Answer no to any of those and you are out of league with alot of people out there in the world unless you are a well-to-do entrepreneur with a small/middle/big business or someone who can move about globally with a skill in demand.
Moral of the Story: Don't look down on people. Sometimes even the cleaner in your office could be a rich landlord in his/her own country. I know of some filipino nurses who own penthouses in Australia or land in Philipines while a degree holder in Singapore is struggling to earn enough to pay off a HDB flat.
Don't talk so big until you really make it big in life. JC and poly is the starting point , not an end point, of life achievements. -
I dyed my hair and smoked when I was in poly. Doesn't mean that I am being a posseur.
