Frankly speaking, there is no difference or advantage. It is all up to an individual to learn. If you are keen to learn, you don't need to go to university.Originally posted by divinewind88:do u guys think is better to get a local degree first then go overseas to get a masters or shud just go straight to overseas to get a degree?
our NTU is quite a well recognized uni is it not?
Shoot back saying that you're going to pursue your prestigious degree from a University better than NUS.Originally posted by Fatum:oh yeah ... even if you're set on going overseas, unless you're heading to oxbridge or ivy league types, get yourself an offer from NUS/NTU first ....
it's good for shutting up the aunty brigades who're wont to say you CMI that's why you head overseas ...

Aerospace engineering Caltech or MIT might be better. Not Harvard - Harvard is more for any other subject than engineering or physics.Originally posted by divinewind88:hey thanks for your opinions. it helped me to some extent!
Who gives a damn about aunty brigades. I also kenna the CMI thing before. Then I just tell them that my best qualification is not my degree but my permanent residency. They just shut up.Originally posted by Fatum:oh yeah ... even if you're set on going overseas, unless you're heading to oxbridge or ivy league types, get yourself an offer from NUS/NTU first ....

It is risky to go into construction now with the americans having trouble with their housing mortgages. Once recession hits , you won't see much construction going on. And the lack of civil engineers is really not a problem , it is the lack of skilled tradesmen aka construction workers. So think very carefully about the choices you make.Originally posted by coochi:any advice on where to take a civil engineering degree? thinking of studying in QUT cause aussie construction sector rising..or shld i jus go to NUS?
